@Ben_McKee @Eric_Cain seems that Blade's return is becoming imminent. Got through this weekend perfect which the coaches have to feel was best case without having to use Blade. But with Ole Miss and Vandy coming up I would say we see him in some way.

With that being said...

When Blade comes back they will ease him in early and Beam will still probably be getting 3-4 innings before or after Blade?

Once Blade gets established back to 5-6 inning starter it will be interesting what Beam's role is.

Dollander is a stud but what is happening with other teams stealing on him is dangerous. It is basically an automatic steal of 2nd when someone gets on 1st. Dollander also struggles to get out of the 5th due to pitch count. 1st round talent for sure but still raw with holding runners and putting hitters away.

1) Does Beam move into a Sean Hunley role throwing 2-3 innings multiple times per weekend?
2) Does Tony V and Frank let Dollander and Beam compete for that starter spot?
3) Dollander out of the pen throwing 97-99 for 2-3 innings?

Dollander probably profiles better out of the pen with his strikeout stuff and not having to worry about guys stealing bags on him for 5 to 6 innings than Beam does.

Postseason baseball (and MLB as Braves proved) you better have guys in your pen that can rack up strikeouts when they need them.

It is pretty wild that Drew Beam is even making this a conversation right now with how good Dollander is...
