On the nation Gregg Sankey admitted the official error of signaling the play dead in the Memphis vs Mississippi State game. Will he receive questions about the officials' decision in the scoop and score? Sankey said some calls are perceived as an error but are not necessarily an error. Does he consider the scoop and score call one of those? I've never seen anything like that play. If he's going to comment on plays like the Mississippi State vs Memphis one, I think we deserve a comment on the scoop and score.

More importantly, why does Greg seem completely disconnected from the frustration that fans experience on a regular basis as a result of his officials' consistent errors? The fans watch the games on TV, pay for tickets, & ultimately pay his salary. Why is he only concerned with the behavior of frustrated fans and not concerned at all with what causes the frustration? He may say he cares, but his actions, or lack thereof, say otherwise.

Is Greg ever going to face questions on efforts to make officiating better? On the nation he took the stance that the current system works well. He even bragged that NFL people said they wished they had our officials. On that 4th and 26 play where Warren was marked a yard short, the official spotting the ball was 25 yards behind the play on the sideline. And then that spot (that was clearly wrong) must be over turned by indisputable evidence in a video review that is lacking good camera angles. Is that the best that a league making 100s of millions of dollars every year can do? There are so many changes that could easily make officiating better (more cameras, sky refs, more refs, full time refs, actual accountability), but no changes are ever made and that status quo remains because it doesn't affect the teams that really matter to Greg. If Alabama lost a close game because of 2 huge blown calls, officiating and correct calls would suddenly become an important issue. Maybe that's why those kinds of call never happen to Alabama.
