Our current peer group is SC, KTY, ARK, Ole Ms, as far as recruiting & W/L records, I think we agree that Al-LSU-A&M-GA-UF are all better with AU & MSU dropping down some.
If Kelsey Pope is the WR coach he brings experience from Samford-Gardner Webb-Shorter Univ-Ohio Northern.
Yes he must have coaching talent for JH to hire him, no doubt, but no way this guy has the pull, H.S. contacts, and recruiting chops of the best coaches in the SEC.
Imo, we are not "On The Job Training" U, and being just an adequate coach is not moving us past the above peer group, no matter how many times posters say "I trust JH", give him a chance, etc.
Even Ole Miss just approved a $11.5 MM coaching budget, with $3.5 MM going to assist.s.
Financially we blow their school out of the water revenue wise, but that is commitment by a lesser $$ school.
