Football STORY: Running back Jabari Small values role as cleanup guy for Vols' offense

Jabari Small is typically not Tennessee's leading rusher in games, but the running back is consistently capitalizing on drives for the Vols.

He values his role as the cleanup guy.

"Whatever they want me to take for the game, that's what I try to do."

Tennessee defensive end Tyler Baron's stay in the transfer portal was short-lived. Baron officially entered the transfer portal yesterday afternoon after extensive conversations with Rodney Garner and Josh Heupel. The news was first reported by Matt Zenits of ON3 Sports.

However, Volunteer Country on Sports Illustrated can confirm, Baron has withdrawn his name from the portal today.

Baron, a key member of the Tennessee 2020 recruiting class which has been decimated by transfers since Jeremy Pruitt was fired at Tennessee, appears to be content with staying on Rocky Top at this time.

So is anyone that potentially gets drafted to NFL now going to opt out?

Makes you wonder if this is the norm and all those players who get elevated to possibly get in the NFL just turn left and opt out.. Money speaks agents family friends all looking for the paycheck and riding the coattails of those players that are good. Makes bowls meaningless in future. I'm going to Miami but might not have booked if all our players that are great dont play. NIL and chance for big money has ruined college sports and ammatuer sports.

As football season comes to a close let’s see if the board can predict who will win this year’s Super Bowl. As things stand today I gave the top 3 seeds in the AFC and NFC, and the other option. Mathematically my New Orleans Saints are still alive in the terrible NFC South at 5-9.
