I get what coaches and media are talking about when they talk about 50/50 balls on the outside. Would be interested in seeing or hearing actual stats about he results when a QB throws a fade/back shoulder 25+ yards down the field. I would bet the actual results are
50% positive (catch, pass interference, etc)
10% negative (interception, holding penalty, sack)
40 neutral (incomplete)
With the way the games are called by the officials and the way our OL struggled to protect (even though it has been better lately) it just makes sense to keep taking those shots.
