Great job rebuilding our program Butch!! Back to back 9 win seasons and now further evidence of how far you have brought the program.
Now to the players themselves who does well this weekend
1) Josh Dobbs- Huge weekend for him he will blow away the interview and IQ (wonderlic) I believe it is called. How does he test, I believe good, very athletic guy. Throwing and pocket mechanics huge for him this weekend in his quest to be drafted.
2) Alvin Kamara- personally I believe he will blow the testing and drill portion of the combine out of the water. I look for Alvin to cement his status as a 1st to high 2nd round player this weekend.
3) Cam Sutton- Again huge weekend for Cam. Much like Josh his interview portion will go well. How healed is his ankle? He is a great athlete if healthy I look for him to test well.
4) Jaylon Reeves Maybin- not sure what all he will be doing based off his shoulder situation. However if he does test it is hard not to think with his athleticism he won't blow position work and testing away for the LB position. I feel if he test he makes himself into a drafted player vs a free agent. Coaches always say your film is your resume and his resume is stout. Very instinctive player, tough, athletic, a great special teams player. He is the kind of guy that teams draft in the later rounds and build their team off of. Very valuable member of a franchise when you throw his leadership qualities in to boot.
5) Josh Malone- He MUST test well to make leaving early a good move if he doesn't he could very well be regretting his decision by the time the draft rolls around. For the most part did not live up to his billing as 5 star in first two years on campus. However this past season he showed the skills that had him ranked as a former 5 star player.
6) LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST!! Derek Barnett- His production and film as well as his character in the interviewing process will shine. Testing I am not sure how he will do as compared to what is a very deep edge rusher class. I feel if he test better than expected he cements himself in the top half of the first round. Their are questions about his length and bend etc. already from some of the so called experts. However the guy is a straight baller, put on the film and you see all you need to know about him. If he test well he sets himself and his family up for life.
