I was one of the many who, after these games, wondered if CJM was really the man. How in the world do you fall down this hard from one season to the next?
82 we finally broke the Bama streak.
However, UT football turned finally to set the stage for the next 20 years on 9/28/85 when no 1 Auburn and Bo Jackson came to KTown and got an ass whipping. This set the stage for the SEC title game. Yes, JM did have the 88 season, but 88 became the exception instead of the rule.
After grinding of teeth, throwing objects across the room, and using language that would make a sailor blush over the last 3 games, I have reconciled myself to give this 2-3 more years with CJP and await that ballgame in next 2 years which will be the turning point of UT football moving forward.
