A burning question that I have had for 2 or 3 decades

So, if an opponent's offense dominates the time of possession, everyone talks about the defense getting tired, worn down. My question is this:

Why doesn't the opponent's offense get tired? Yes, I know the DL has to rush the passer, but typically DL players are rotated every few plays. OL usually seems to use the same players throughout the game.

Can someone explain this to me, logically, like I am a 5 year old?
