It just seems like an exceptionally stupid thing to have still going right now. Also non violent offenders with low bonds and short sentences should be let go. Jails are a tinderbox and unfortunately are not closed environments. I know that will be controversial but it makes sense right now.
Im thinking back to my one experience having to go to court while i was incarcerated for a little less than a month. There were close to 80 men stuffed in 2 holding cells that combined just slightly larger than my livinh room. You are supposed to keep 6 feet between yourself and others now but in that situation you may have 6 inches. If we are still doing that then we are just asking for it. Some of those 80 would be leaving that night as soon as the system does its slow thing and that morning they were packed in like sardines with an pandemic running wild.
