I get that you’re trying to have his back but straight up lying to our faces about his production is not the way to do that. Don’t be Butch Jones. Don’t gaslight us bro. “He’s getting on base….the stats don’t back up the production he’s had the last couple of weeks”. What’s his OBP for the last couple of weeks? His OBP for the season is 37.4. Almost worst on the team and definitely worst of the starters. It dropped significantly in the last few weeks because he was doing ok before that. I’m rooting for him to pull out of the funk he’s in but I don’t get the point in pretending like nothing is going on. He knows he’s in a funk and anyone who pays attention knows it so just say it. Who cares.
Also saying the stats don’t back up the production is weird because there’s not some hidden way he’s helping Tennessee while he’s at bat that’s not captured by any stats. Batting average isn’t the only stat in baseball.
