He is 100% right. Just like we were in baseball, we’re now a sleeping giant in football. We have enough talent in-state and we’re in a good enough location in the country to bring in the best kids to play. I don’t care if kids today don’t know about our history… we know it. We know what we have, and we know we’ve won SEC titles and the big national prize not that long ago. That wasn’t back during the ancient times. Our football program has simply drifted off to sleep because of bad hires and cheap decisions caused by bad leadership in the past. This is a fresh, new beginning with Danny White though.
Just as we did with Coach Vitello, hire the right football coach. He will in turn hire a staff of assistants who will in turn get the very most from our talent for a change. An exciting offense will turn the heads of high school kids and will cause them to jump aboard. Get the offense rolling and you can sell defense easily. Do what needs to be done to keep Rodney Garner happy.
The right coaching staff will produce wins which will in turn produce tons of cash for shiny new upgrades on the facilities front.
