Best rib eye grilling technique ???

I’ve always marinated out if fridge for couple of hours......5 minutes each side on highest level.....then 8 minutes over no flame for what I consider perfect med rare. But others tell me it’s not the best approach. My Weber is excellent....I grill on plates on top of the grill and no flame touches the meat. Suggestions?
