I am going to buy my first grill within the next week and have settled on a ceramic style one. I plan to do more smoking that actual grilling.
Have been going through this research wise the last few days. The first two I looked at were the BGE and Kamado Joe. I looked at a BGE in person at Embers in Cool Springs. Awesome, awesome guy named Todd helped me. The most popular size, large, sells for $799. However, once you add a stand and other accessories you are near $1100-1200 from what I could tell.
The Kamado Joe is right at $1200 and includes all the above referenced accessories.
The Char Griller Acorn is really interesting to me. You can get one at Home Depot with a cart for $299. That's a huge price difference. It's steel and not ceramic.
