Bituli came across as an alpha today in his interview; I think he ends up starting against Georgia Tech. He seems hungry to make a name for himself, and based on his comments later in the interview, I think Bituli sees this thing as being about who's the best linebacker on the team. The way he spoke about Kirkland sounded to me the way one competitor speaks about another, and I love it if he's trying to beat Kirkland for best LB title. That means only good things for all parties involved.

Two statements combined sum it up for me. At 0:25, he answers a question about not knowing the scheme last year and how it kept him off the field. He says he doesn't want that to be an "excuse," or in other words, "You're gonna have to play me."

Second, when asked whether he and Kirkland would play side-by-side, he said, "I wouldn't be surprised if they did it later." Or in other words, "I'm one of the best around here, and they're not going to keep me off the field."

No knock on McDowell or Jumper, but if the kid plays with as much confidence as he comes across as having and he knows the schemes, I'm sorry but there's no way they play ahead of Bituli.

The potential here could be special. I'm buying stock early.
