What now? Where do we go and what can we do going forward? Are we starring 8-4 or 7-5 in the face? I know things are never as good or as bad as they seem. We won. Yeah!? A very hollow moral victory when we got out played and out coached by a team that shouldn't be in our league.
Pretty obvious we still have the same issues as last year:
1) Cant throw the ball, not down the field anyway. 6.6 yards per attempt. Just horrible.
2) Cant stuff the run, gave up 180+ yards to a Sunbelt team.
In addition, as Brent stated, our OL and DL didn't play physical. Our best players pressed and made serious blunders. Our coaching staff remains defensive, arrogant, and condescending ("Let me educate you").
Seriously, can we recover from this? Can we still reach our goals? Or, is it pretty obvious that we just don't have it?
I thought we wouldn't know if we were contenders after yesterday's game. You can't make too much out of beating an inferior opponent like a drum. On the other hand, I thought we'd know today if we are in fact pretenders. It sure looks like it to me. Frankly, it's embarrassing and demoralizing.
