Every year it seems this is the most stressful period in recruiting. Today's news on Ford is indicative of the unpleasantness of recruiting for coaches with a modicum of compassion. To evidently have to turn away recruits that we would have died for a couple of years ago speaks volumes about the job this coaching staff is doing.
I truly wish the best for Mr. Ford. I can imagine the hurt that a recruit who truly wants to be someplace, and thinks for months that he will be, must feel to be informed otherwise in the 11th hour. If that happened here, I hurt for him.
Recruiting is a tough business at the highest echelons of D-1 football but that is part of the price of being a winner on the field.
