First I don't think he is promising them anything and I think they know it's conditional. So maybe Butch is letting a few of these players commit to a power 5/sec team to help get them noticed. And if things don't work out with other players then you have a spot.
Butch has shown to be a good evaluator, Butch has shown he can bring in the stars.
There is literally 0 reasons to panick, question, or be concerned.
6 months from now we won't have a handful of these guys. We will have players like chandler, Higgins, etc... Committed.
