If I heard Coach Tony V correctly the other day, he thinks NIL will help the Vols vs the private schools in baseball. I guess currently we are limited to 11.7 scholarships and Vandy and the like give full rides to more players through private scholarships. CTV appears to be saying NIL can be used to pay full or partial players tuition and expenses (privately, not through the university) and help recruiting.
With our illustrious admin apparently restricting us to a reduction of 5 to 10 schollys this year, could NIL be used to pay guys we want as PWO's for a year or so? Of course that may not be the look they want to present to the NCAA.
And going forward seems like this would let rich programs go past the 85 number by having guys expenses paid via NIL. Of course limited numbers that can travel, etc. but still maybe an advantage.
