fans and commentators always make the mistake of over reacting to the last game a team played. Remember how Kenny Trill was going to win multiple Heismans? There were experts close to that program before the season that were saying Kyle Allen was the best QB on the team.

The same goes for the Vols. The Offense is probably not as good as we looked on Saturday and the defense is not as bad. The defense has holes to fill for sure. I think they have to get better at MLB and in the center of the D-line and they have to find a nickel. But we knew that in the preseason. The offense has a lot of weapons at the skill spots but we need to see how the Offensive line holds up.

Right now it looks like the O-line is in pretty good shape from center to left tackle and the right side is improved. How improved we will find out on Saturday and on September 26th in the so called Swamp.

Defensively, IMHO, we got out schemed more than physically out played. The touchdown to the tight end BG ran the same play for most of their yardage in that drive. Maggitt bit on the play fake and didn't cover the TE every time. BG isolated the slot receiver on our MLB multiple times. There are few MLBs in the nation that can cover a slot receiver. Moseley obviously got beat several times but he didn't get much help over the top from the safeties who often looked completely lost on Saturday. And the true freshman nickel had some bad technique issues off the line of scrimmage. Those things are fixable and what the first game is for as long as you get the W.

I still believe that the Defense will be a strength for this team when viewed across the season and not judged on a single game.

I predict the VOLS hold Oklahoma under 350 total yards and under 30 points on Saturday.
