I am a history buff. With the fact that UT is now a force to be dealt with in baseball, I did some research into the history of the World Series.

The College World Series has been played annually since 1947 with the exception of 2020, the Covid year. The first two in 1947 and 1948 were played in Kalamazoo, MI and the one in 1949 was played in Wichita, KS. All world series since those 3 have been played in Omaha. Following is a list of the teams that have won the world series and the number of times they have won.

USC 12
LSU 6
Texas 6
Arizona St. 5
Arizona 4
Cal State Fullerton 4
Miami 4
Oregon St. 3
Minnesota 3
Vanderbilt 2
Michigan 2
California 2
South Carolina 2
Oklahoma 2
Stanford 2
Ohio State 2
Each of the following won 1: Mississippi St, Florida, Coastal Carolina, Virginia, UCLA, Fresno St, Rice, Pepperdine, Georgia,
Wichita St, Wake Forest, Missouri, Holy Cross

A few things I found interesting:
FL State has never won one
USC has been dominant, but they last won one in 1998. From 1970-1974 they won 5 in a row. Amazing.
Minnesota has won 3. I wouldn't have expected that
With Arizona and Arizona St winning 9 combined, that state has been very productive
Cal St Fullerton's 4 wins is quite an achievement
Some odd outliers IMO are Coastal Carolina, Holy Cross (holy crap), and maybe even Pepperdine and Fresno St.

Yeah I know, I have too much extra time on my hands, but retirement will do that. I just have a feeling that Tony V will put us in the club before he leaves, maybe even this year.
