After grieving for the last week and half, I am now starting to watch the CWS. The remaining teams of AR, OK and MS certainly did not impress anyone for the first three months of the college baseball series. AR didn't win their division, OK tied with three other teams for second in the Big 12 and Ole Miss was the last team in the entire NCAA tourney (of 64 teams).
I know it is the holy grail of college baseball, but one cannot say that the winner of this tourney is the best team for 2022. They were the best team in June very likely. As a disappointed UT fan, it just seems brutal to look forward to an over 40 game regular season and an SEC tourney to get to the part of the season that ESPN tell us is all that matters. I get that it is compelling baseball, but it does not provide us with the best baseball team in 2022.
