They are basically looking at the last 5 years and giving points for various season accomplishments, and the same for 6-10 years ago but with less weight on those. Pretty solid write-up as well.
2019 Rank: 69. No program in college baseball has more helium right now than the Volunteers. Tony Vitello has a hard-nosed mentality and he has cultivated an incredible fan base and culture in Knoxville. Tennessee was once a program that had very little fan support and had one of the worst facilities in the SEC. Now, the Vols have one of the more passionate fan bases to say the least, and the school is about to spend upwards to $40 million on stadium renovations. That’s how much things have changed, and a large part of that credit goes to Vitello. It also helps that Vitello has a star-studded staff that includes pitching coach Frank Anderson and rising superstar Josh Elander. The Vols have created a brand on the recruiting trail, and with the administration going all-in on baseball, they’re only getting started. On the field, Tennessee started this run back in 2019 with a 40-21 overall record and a trip to the Chapel Hill Regional title game. A year later, the Vols returned to Omaha after a Super Regional series win over LSU, and reached the 50-win mark. Last year, of course, was memorable for the Vols as they went an incredible 57-9 overall. They fell short in the Super Regional round, but that doesn’t diminish the season they had. — Kendall Rogers
Pretty fair assessment if you ask me. Also pretty cool to see us jump up from 69 in 2019
