Scott Frost basically capitulated to the AD to keep his job another year.

Cut his buyout in half after next season from $15M to $7.5M and reduced his salary by $1M next year. His buyout after this season was $20M.

Forced (or agreed to) make multiple coaching changes already and probably more to come. At least two of the Assistants who were cut were Nebraska grads. All of them had been coaching together for many years.

The biggest challenge he’s faced is players choosing not to remain and play in Lincoln after he’s recruited them there. He’s signing players from FL, GA, AL, CA, PA, KY, etc who aren’t staying after getting there. The upheaval and uncertainty surely won’t help recruiting immediately. I know they’re opening a $155M training facility this year but will that move the needle?

He’s essentially gambled $10M that he can win next year and have it turned around with a revamped staff. Should he have forced their hand on the $20M buyout and moved on to an opportunity where he can win if they let him go?
