Butch continues to be stingy with actually allowing any 'real football' to be watched, but here are few thoughts from the four periods we got to see today.
Broken record time, but the WRs just look a lot better. In regards to black stripes being removed, the first thing I do at practice is look to see if Tyler Byrd is still wearing his, if so, then I figure no one has gotten theirs removed yet. Byrd looks good and just based on how they're lining up in drills right now he's probably the 4th or 5th receiver. Works and acts like an upperclassmen, not even a little bit of tentativeness in him that I can see. Even running routes against air it's easy to see that he's an explosive athlete.
Jauan Jennings just competes. You can tell he's not all the way healthy, but whether they're catching balls from the JUGGs machine, running routes or catching punts, he's always trying to get an extra rep or do something better than a teammate.
I thought all the QBs threw it well today in the portions that we got to watch. Still would like to see Guarantano in a scrimmage setting, kid looks great just out there running around, playing pitch and catch.
Shy Tuttle was out there again today going through drills and doing all the non-contact stuff the rest of the DL was doing. That's two days in a row with no apparent issues after looking like he went pretty hard on Tuesday. Very good sign as far as him making progress and not taking a step back.
