Most picked them 9-3. Some even would have taken 8-4 over 10-2 and not many if any had us possible finishing #5-8 in the nation and hosting a home game in the playoffs. Then toss in how everyone felt after losing to Arkansas. That is now a distant memory thankfully.
2. Nico is getting better....really good when he doesn't hold it
3. Playcalling still weird on 3rd downs and 6+ yards running it or throwing it sideways....didn't even call timeout after we did run it and took a delay of game on 4th which even confused the TV crew.
Short yardage plays back to back.....3rd down was slow developing and 4th down was easy to see exactly it was going to the TE at FB.
Heupel got bailed out by the FG and 1-2 other times after very weird calls on 2nd and esp 3rd down. Not sure you can do that vs way better teams. Jmo that and Nico holding the ball waiting for long routes is why UGA gave us first (but UGA played the game of the year vs UT and our D didn't sniff Beck).
4. Can UT get healthy with key players and also get sharp after time off? They were not really sharp after bye weeks this year losing at Ark. At least we're at home.
5. This D is really good when they get going. Early in games occasionally get them off a bit slow though
6. Tackle is a mess still but it is what it is. Expect a couple penalties every game from them and 1 from a dlineman on the QB also. Be nice to quit fumbling #6 as good as you are
7. Matthews can get open...he does not catch the ball with his hands yet. Thornton when healthy needs to run the post way more than we call it
8. Michigan led committee will probably pair UT with Ohio St. But we can beat anyone in this playoff if our D brings it, no turnovers and play calling is good getting the ball out of Nico's hands quick/ in rhythm
