OK, try this on:

1) Florida-LSU is moved to Nov. 19 in The Swamp

2) LSU-Texas A&M is moved from the following Thanksgiving Thursday to a regular Saturday slot. Do this now and there's six weeks to prepare

3) LSU-South Alabama is moved from Nov. 19 to Oct. 29, LSU's open date. This way LSU doesn't lose a home game and the revenue from a home weekend, even if it does lose its open date before Alabama on Nov. 5

4) South Alabama-Georgia State scheduled for Oct. 29 is scrapped (as is Florida-Presbyterian on Nov. 19)

So the only major loser is Georgia State but guess what, we'll send them a check from the insurance money for 500K. They'll be pleased to get the dough for not playing a game. They'll be fine. If they need a bone, the SEC can guarantee that in the next 10 years a few games against SEC teams will schedule Georgia State for a nice fee.

For the inconvenience of South Alabama losing a home game and having to move a game, we'll guarantee its game with LSU will be on an ESPN channel for maximum exposure for the program. To make up for any lost revenue from a South Alabama home game, SEC will make the same offer of a few nice payout games to USA within the next few years.

LSU becomes a scheduling loser because it has to play three straight SEC road games to end the season. Oh well, had to play those on the road anyway. And LSU does lose its open date before Bama. Again, oh well, the way to look at it is now Fournette gets more time to heal now to get ready for Bama and Florida later.

Think this is a solution that works, doesn't alter too many games, doesn't alter the race in the SEC in terms of everybody playing eight games, and in the end, the only loser is Georgia State, who still got a nice check for not playing a game. And Presbyterian still gets its check, which Florida would have paid 'em anyway, also for not playing, a pretty good deal for them actually, because this is a school (enrollment: 1,200) Florida should not be playing anyway.
