While we bury our head in the sand about recent events, other sites are reporting about how our program is dealing with what is actually going on and how it effects our players, coaches and the program. Ubben gets some great insight straight from Pruitt. Well Hubbs, I guess it is Pruitt's style to "get into social issues".

On Friday, Pruitt hosted a team meeting via Zoom with his entire Vols football roster. The meeting was supposed to be spent outlining what players could expect upon their return to campus. The COVID-19 pandemic shut down all of sports, but beginning June 8 players are allowed to participate in voluntary in-person workouts.

But before they could talk protocol, testing, hygiene or anything regarding the resumption of activity, Pruitt wanted to address the incidents that cost three people their lives and the anger that resurfaced when the video of Floyd’s death went viral last week.

“I want to talk about it,” Pruitt said.
