Saw this on twitter this morning. The following is a list of the Vol Basketball scholarship roster and their recruiting rankings:
DJ Burns - 108
Yves Pons - 127
Lamonte Turner - 144
Jalen Johnson = 147
Jordan Bone - 171
Grant Williams - 191
Zach Kent - 203
John Fulkerson - 238
Admiral Schofield - 251
Jordan Bowden - 262
Derrick Walker - 270
Kyle Alexander - 362
Most looking at these rankings would dismiss this roster as a bunch of garbage that could never compete for a championship. Yet, this a preseason top 10 team coming off an SEC regular season championship season.
This is a perfect example of the impact of very good coaching and player development. Remembering where this team was 2 or 3 years ago tells me even more about Barnes ability.
This gives me even more hope about what we have in football. Yes, we are seeing the growing pains and they will continue. But as talent is added and meshed with what we already have, we will see the improvement. 2020 is going to be the year where i expect to see something.
