As a QB that could really make a difference in our season and as an NFL prospect is keeping his eyes downfield.
Right now when he feels like he has to scramble he is run first. Does not attempt to look for a receiver just tucks it and runs. Which works out every once and awhile but also leads to sacks or short yardage gains. If he can have a pass first mentality when he scrambles and when nothing is there then run it could open up even more big play potential. Guys who do this well currently Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Matt Corral, Josh Allen etc…
He mentioned in an interview this morning he working this off-season to be more comfortable in the pocket when it gets uncomfortable. He knows it’s key and could turn his draft stock way up if he can take that next step.
