Getting a little tired of beer and wine and wanting to start trying bourbon/whisky straight more often.

My last purchase was Henry McKenna straight 10 year based on reviews and a pretty low price point. Any thoughts on this? What should I be tasting as a bourbon noob? What should my next bottle be?

I’ve had eagle rare and I generally bought buffalo trace for mixing in the past. Ive always leaned towards blends or straight bourbon instead of rye’s or scotch but I’m open to suggestions.
