If you haven't seen it:
.....But Tennessee's perceived rotation of wideouts is probably a bit overblown. VolQuest.com managed to obtain the game rep counts for all the wideouts through the first three games, and the Vols have four wideouts with more than 100 reps and their top five all have 80-plus. Marquez North leads the way with 130, followed closely by Josh Malone (122) and then Jauan Jennings (107) and Josh Smith (105). Von Pearson has 83 and Howard has 65, though he was suspended for the first game and then exited after an apparent head/ankle injury against Western Carolina. Preston Williams, by the way, has 37.....
I agree with Brent. With all the talk about the perceived lack of effectiveness due to over-rotation this looks pretty normal. As others have mentioned it is surprising that North doesn't have more catches especially since he leads with reps. The number are skewed somewhat however due to the two weak opponents. We have run the ball 158 times versus only 83 passes (49 completions). Again I believe this is partly due to the opponents. I would guess this will become more balanced as we get into SEC play and running becomes more difficult. The split of catches:
Malone 9
Wolf 7
Jennings 6
Smith 6
Johnson 4
North 4
Williams 3
Pearson 3 (also surprising)
Kamara 3
Hurd 2
Pig 1
Ellis 1
Total 49
Williams leads in yards with 98 followed closely by Malone with 92.
