I know many of you will hate me for saying this, but it is time. It is time to do away with the permanent rival games in the SEC.
This year we will get to play #10 Texas A&M and #1 Alabama.
Meanwhile Florida draws #18 LSU (whose QB barely has a pulse) and #17 Arkansas
Georgia pulls #23 Ole Miss and unranked Auburn.
Every year we are at a competitive disadvantage by playing Alabama. We start behind the proverbial 8 ball. LSU is Florida's rival and is a program on the decline somewhat. Georgia's rival is Auburn and they are worse than LSU.
Honestly it would be like the Yankees having to play Tampa and miss the Red Sox each year while the Orioles miss Tampa and have to get the Red Sox each year.
It is just a very broken system. I know for all the traditionalist, we just can't not have the game with Bama, but from a very practical standpoint, we really really need to.
