A local sports radio host who's a KSU grad and well connected told a couple stories today.
One was about the compliance dept calling Bill Snyder one day to demand that Tyler Lockett be suspended immediately because they had discovered phone records that a coach had impermissible contact with him during his recruitment. It turned out that the coach in question was Lockett's godfather and had a prior relationship. This shouldn't have been a big surprise to anyone in the dept as the Lockett family history at KSU is similar to the Berry family at UT. He said that Frank Martin left due to multiple clashes with Currie over compliance issues.
Currie also asked Bill Snyder to have the team take a bus to Norman OK for a game rather than fly to save money which wasn't well received.
As has been said on the board already, the consensus seems to be that Currie is very good when it comes to the financial aspect of the job and something of a micro manager when it comes to compliance.
