I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of the first 2 chapters of Jon Gordon's new book co written with Mike Smith entitled "You Win in the Locker Room First". It is a great read so far and comes out at the end of September.
There are a bunch of little stories as to how the Energy Bus has been used by some programs but the refereence using Coach Jones was interesting:
After Jon Gordon presented to the team, Coach Jones asked 10 players to remain while the rest of the group was dismissed. Jon asked him what why are holding them back and Jones replied, these 10 are my Energy Vampires. He said "a few of the guys don't get it, won't change, and we will have to let them off the bus."
Jon Gordon was impressed that Coach Jones immediately did this. Jones said "Why wait?" To build a winning team you must create a positive culture where negativity can't breed and grow.
