was not what i was hoping to see, but what i did see did not surprise me much. Here is my reasoning.

Based on practice reports, it was clear to me going in that Coach Heupel, does not believe that Harrison Bailey, at this time, is what this program needs. It was also clear to me that the RB core has been very good.

Here is what i saw last night.

I saw a QB, that was anointed by some before he had ever played a down of football on this field as the savior of the program, struggle to maintain a rythmn in a n offense that is brand new to him. This should not have been a surprise to anyone. There is only so much you an do to acclimate a player to live action in practice. He missed some things. THat is to be expected.

I saw a group of running backs run the ball really hard and really well.

I saw a group of WR's struggling to get on the same page as the QB and also struggle to make a catch from time to time.

I saw an OL struggle a little on run blocking. once the starting center went out.

I saw a defense that played pretty well against poor competition.

I saw a strong special teams group.

Finally, i saw something i have not seen in a while. I saw development. I saw some players that i did not expect much from giving great effort and getting results. That, above anything else gives me hope for what this team can do as the season continues.
