My new definition of insanity is coming to this friggin board and expecting calmer heads to prevail! It blows my mind that less than one year ago, many UT fans were worried that Pruitt was on track to leave for Alabama once Saban retires. Many of us were tickled at the progress UT made from the beginning of last season to the end of the season and excited about the trajectory of this team.
Obviously, this season has been a major disappointment. I got caught up in the excitement of what might have been in store for this season. But, I grossly underestimated the value of the senior leadership we had last season, and realize how precious little leadership we have on this team from the junior and senior class. We had clear leaders in Jennings on offense and Bituli and Taylor on defense last season. We have NONE this season on either side of the ball.
We are genuinely two years away. We need this season's recruiting class to stay mostly intact and one more solid class behind them to truly be at a point to play week to week in this conference.
I'm as bummed out as everyone else is about this season, but please stop with the Hugh Freeze crap!
