If they wanted the best team to win the national championship game, they wouldn't invite 68 teams and make it single elimination. They'd play it like the NBA playoffs.
I have no emotions behind saying this part, but the whole setup is only about ratings and cash for the NCAA. We have to realize that and not kill ourselves.
I'm upset that we lost, but this game didn't prove shit except who was hot for 1 day. I want to nail Rick for never getting it done, but imagine if the NBA playoffs were done like this. It would be laughed at. Kentucky blew us out of the water the first time we played them. Were they ultimately the better team? Nope.
Imagine if MLB baseball was played like this lol. The wildcard shit in the MLB is just as bad. Pure ratings grab. I bet Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio laugh at that crap in heaven. Those MLBers play 162 games and don't think that's enough to decide who the 2 best teams are lol But at least their playoffs are not single elimination (minus the wildcard idiocy)
It's a fun tournament while you're winning and the frequent upsets are why fans of the other teams watch. But it's not about crowning the best team. Your entire season means almost nothing.
