Our most reliable post player goes down in the middle of the season...
I love Fulky, but he was a shell of himself all year...
We relied on 2 great freshman PGs (very talented, but still freshman) all season...
Because of our lack of a post presence, if we didn't make our 3's then we weren't going to beat good teams this year (finally came back to bite us)
Considering all of those factors... we won the SEC tournament in the toughest year for the conference since I've been alive.
It was an incredible coaching job by Barnes all year and I don't really understand how anyone can say otherwise.
The NCAA tourney is all about matchups and seeding... we unfortunately were screwed on both... ran into an underperforming power 5 team that played their best game of the season while we shot 10% from 3... and still had a chance to win the game.
It really sucks the way it ended and I'm mad as hell... but this shouldn't take away from the year we had.
