If you look at 2021 second round salaries , you see most of the guys around 37th pick got at least the minimum NBA salary which will be around a million next year guaranteed for two years . Some got more with longer contracts. I don’t see Memphis low balling a local kid . It would be bad publicity. I know he is disappointed but settling for a million a year is not the worst news someone could get.
