Why have we underachieved so much this year?
I know we may still hit our goal of winning the East, but we'll have looked horrible doing it. No style points for sure. We're miles from being Bama good, or SECW good.
We're 2-3 and could easily be 1-4 in SEC play. I know we could also be 4-1, but come on?! When App should've beaten you, I don't want to hear woulda, shoulda, coulda about SEC play! We've looked like a playoff team at times, and a MWC team at others. Inexplicable!
Damn! We had everyone back. Expectations were sky high. I just don't understand it. Below are possible explanations:
Overrated
Poor fall camp plan by CBJ
Just poor coaching
Injury's
Hurd/Williams and the there is no I in team issue
Dobbs, live by the sword/die by the sword
Combo, all of the above
I've always been a Jimmy's and Joe's advocate. Talent beats scheme every time. I guess I'm leaning toward the overrated explanation. Our winning streak at the end of last year and the start of this year was against the "Sisters of the Poor".
I do think that Butch is in over his head. What once looked promising, especially recruiting wise, has now gone south and or been exposed. We simply don't have the horses. Nor are we recruiting at a level that will bring us back. We had a small window, but I'm afraid that Smart and Swamp Donkey are about to close it.
So what's the answer? I know we're stuck with CBJ thru 2018. $10million reasons. Where do we go from here? What's your vision, next year and beyond.
