to tell a head coach that some changes have to be made or it is his head. Ask Doug Dickey. If I am the new AD then after careful assessment, including a long session(s) with Butch with input from appropriate others outside the program, big boosters, and it is time to force some changes then it is better now than having another firing later. The annual evaluation would be good time to start.

This summer the talk was about an AD Butch would "approve." Butch does not have the cards now to play that hand. Anyone think another program at our level wants him? All that going to the NFL talk is idle nonsense. I added big boosters because my guess they may be split but do not know that. And, it is always about money, especially with Neyland renovations around the corner.

Just some thinking out loud, nothing more.
