Before Saturday’s loss to UGA, this was the last time we lost a game. 8 straight wins in between. The only other team in the nation who could boast about that was Notre Dame. That doesn’t happen unless you’re doing something right.

We were playing right with UGA up until halftime. It wasn’t the best performance by our OL by a long shot. The good news is that UGA’s front 7 is by far the best they’ll face all year. We have other giants on the horizon like Alabama’s offense, Kentucky’s running game, and Florida’s passing game. We don’t have all the pieces to stop all of this right now. That’s the reason why no one had us predicted to win the east this year or even come in as runner up. Some even had us 4th and a couple 5th.

There are times to complain about the coaching staff, but some on here look forward to losing just so they can bitch, moan, groan, and waller around in misery. Nobody wants to read that crap.

Look at how many years Alabama and UGA have been running like machines. With the position we’re in now, it would take a complete 60 minute collapse by them or a 60 minute mistake free special performance by us. As mentioned earlier, we played with UGA for a half before their talent and depth took over. It’s going to take time for us to recruit, put them through the s&c program, and build depth to play a full 60 minutes with them or Alabama. One overlooked key area where UGA looks to be far superior is the kicking game. Their young kicker was nailing long field goals, and the punter performed well too. We’re not yet up to par there either.

I’ll take what we have now to being 0-8 in the conference and being pushed around by UMass.

Let the rest of the season play out.
