I am being told by Clemson people who are tight with the program that Clemson is going to do whatever it takes, and that means throwing some big bucks to get only a proven Power 5 coach. Their published hot board reflects that but they are not going after assistants or mid-majors. Jack Leggit left a heritage of excellent baseball and it is the goal to get back to that level.
They have good facilities and fan support when winning. Kind of like MSU, isolated and no local distractions.
The idea of Corbin going back to Clemson where he was an assistant is not as far fetched as it may appear on the surface, if Clemson even wants him. Corbin is no dummy and he has seen his advantage at Candy disappear. IMO Clemson has others higher on their board than Corbin.
