I keep seeing this interesting consideration of "player safety being paramount" regarding COVID-19 and the return of collegiate sports. Last night the mods said that's the biggest concern moving forward with the powers that be.
Could you all expand upon that? There is virtually no data showing this is any more of threat to a young elite athlete than the flu (gasp). IMO the concern would more relate more to players giving it to a coach, e.g. the basketball players giving it to Rick Barnes. IIRC the whole PR of the social distancing steps was to impress upon young, healthy people that the point was to protect the vulnerable, not themselves.
