The spring practice article and the reference to the "outside climate" around the program when discussing Paulk got me thinking. Butch also said a few weeks back that his status was an ongoing issue.
It seems pretty obvious that the staff would like to bring Paulk back into the mix but are reluctant to do so because of concerns with perception of the program and criticism they would face for doing so.
My hope is they do what they think is right, not what they think will look right. They need to evaluate the situation in it's entirety, and if they feel he should be given a second opportunity at Tennessee, he should be given one. Whatever gnashing of teeth that will occur from the self-righteous, hypocritical members of the media will only exist for a brief moment in time. It should not dictate their decision.
That said, my guess is that the decision will be dictated by outside influences and theathe will not be allowed to return.
