Hi VQ'ers,

First, I appreciate any input you all can provide. I've always noticed there's a wide range of occupations represented in our forum here and thought this would be a decent place to ask some broad professional questions.

Before my question, some background:

I have a BA in History (summa) from UT-Chattanooga, and will have a MA in American religious history from Florida State University (hopefully) by the end of this school year. I began grad school with expectations of earning a PhD and becoming a professor, but the process is long, arduous, and financially crippling, and my wife and I want to start a family sooner than later. I'll be 25 in March, and have been married for three years. My wife and I are from Knoxville and lived in Chattanooga for a few years. We love both places, and truly desire to return to grow a family.

So, basically, what are my options? What can I do when I'm out of school? Don't need a lot of money, just need to be able to provide.
