I've been with Verizon for almost 20 years now. I've never had a different service. I know in the past there have been some discrepancies with coverage and I've always thought Verizon was superior. I've also never had a problem with paying a little more, even if the product is very similar. When I went to upgrade, I found out Verizon is now leasing phones instead of purchasing them at an upgraded cost. So, you either lease a phone for ~$30/mo or pay $600-800 for a new one. Are all companies doing this now? I'm nervous about switching, mostly because I know Verizon works, anywhere. I've seen the commercials, and I believe it's probably pretty true, plus I don't mind not having service in the mountains or on stretches during long road trips. I'm pretty basic. I don't use a ton of data, maybe 2-3 GB, but I'm annoyed by the cost of a new phone or leasing one. I don't need a new phone every year. I'm fine with the 2ish year lifespan. Any advice or direction would be much apppreciated. TIA!
