HBO is replaying Road House this week and I sat down last night to watch it with my wife, who has never seen it before. Anyway, I noticed something that I'd missed in my previous 75 viewings. I think Dalton is a recovering alcoholic. He works in a bar, but only drinks coffee. He and Wade go out one night and both Wade and the doctor drink Miller High Life while Dalton, once again, drinks coffee. When he first meets the doctor while getting staples he forgoes the anesthetic. And he's into philosophy and a higher power. I know I'm putting way too much time and energy into this, but I wanted to see if anyone else had ever noticed this before.
