The thing about a top 10 list is what factors go into it?
I listed the top 10 that College athlete insight put together below.
I have several issues with their selection and highlighted the ones in Red I would remove.
I would not include Harvard vs Yale because neither team has mattered on a national level in about 75 years at least so let's talk about real football not powder puff football.
I would not include Miami Fl vs FSU because it is a much more modern rivalry as it was not until Howard Schnellenberger got there that they were ever any good and it is the shortest rivalry in time of the teams on this list only having played about 60+ times.
I would also not include Penn St vs Pitt because Pittsburgh has been so lame for so long other than when Majors was there and a few years later when Jackie Sherrill took over that the game has no impact but it is a heated rivalry.
The same could be said about Clemson vs SC as USCe has never been a top ranked team whereas at least Clemson has been on and off over the years.
I would love to replace one of the four with UT vs Bama IF Tennessee had a better winning percentage against Bama so hopefully that will change.
I used to love the Texas vs Texas A&M but they don't play anymore.
I think we are all missing out when they stopped the Nebraska vs Oklahoma rivalry.
It all depends on what factors you use to select the teams.
Do they need to be teams that are usually top ranked or can it be something like the Egg Bowl with Miss St vs Old Miss where they just hate one another and always play? Oregon vs Oregon St is said to be very nasty but obviously it has been rare for both teams to be good.
