I think that's along the right lines but why wouldn't we keep him, even if he has a show cause? My biggest concern would be about recruiting restrictions. That hurts worse than a show cause.
I understand all the holier than thou people that say that keeping DT with a show cause would sully the great reputation of our fine University. I call BS. There is nothing the NCAA is going to do to a program to kill it, short of being caught on tape handing $500k to a player, in this day and age. The NCAA is a paper tiger. Get the letter, cut DT's pay as punishment for his "indiscretions", get a guy who will be loyal to you for as long as you want for sticking with him, and move on with a guy that can coach.
